the real reason:

Mississauga Fire Platoon Chief Alan Hills told reporters that it is believed the fire started after an employee began charging the battery of a pickup truck parked inside the building.

“This truck, the battery was dead, and so they tried to charge it and the arcing from the charger started the fire,” Hills said Sunday.

i remember when I worked in a garage in England
One of the other mechanics put a battery on fast charge
using the big commercial battery charger
I was working on an engine nearby
when the battery exploded with an enormous bang
a large chunk of the casing went flying across the workshop
