Title: Hexacopter Lost and Found
Post by RocketManRC on Aug 18th, 2013 at 4:50pm
I had the idea (actually a suggestion by Richard) to use a hexacopter with a GoPro to search for my Stryker that was lost in the bush the day before. To start with I thought I get some video of the flying field with Chris' Funcub flying below. That worked pretty well but when the airplane landed I realized I was too high and too far to see the orientation anymore. You can see me trying to correct but it keeps going farther over the bush. Finally it crash lands but fortunately with no damage and the battery still connected. I cut out about 10 minutes of video of it sitting on the ground but after that you can hear the beeping from the lost model alarm.

I left the camera on by accident as I walked back and you can see how treacherous the terrain is where I had to walk.

Fortunately Chris had found my Stryker the old fashion way earlier and then helped me find the hexacopter. Thanks Chris!

All in all an eventful and somewhat strange day at the field!
