Title: at the field saturday april 19
Post by C-GFLC on Apr 20th, 2014 at 11:36am
Field conditions are getting better daily and some flying has started.  Things are drying up fast and the grass is green and growing.

Also a lot of work has been done the past two days removing trees from the far side of our area greatly enlarging the flying space.  Jon has singlehandedly cut about 20 percent of those trees in the past two days and would have cut more saturday but the chain saw suffered a pull start failure.

on Friday joe, and matt dug trenches alongside two of the biggest puddles on the road and that will keep them mostly dry for the upcoming season.

for more info see Jon's post in the private membership section below.

1.  Joe flying his heli saturday.  a few nerves but back to normal quickly following three great autos.

In the background you can see how many trees Jon has removed and how much more open the flying space is going to be.  Jon says all the trees in this photo will be downed in the next few weeks.

Marc Roy dropped in Saturday with his large b-17 foamy.  Marc has taken the HK model and repainted it as an anti-sub patrol bomber in coastal command colors.

The b-17 flies well, very scale like.

It's amazing how powerful the frost in the ground is.  Our full greenlee box has been pushed up at quite an angle after the cement block was pushed out of the ground.

several of the posts on the pits fencing have been pushed up 6-8 inches higher with the receding frost.

Thanks to Joe for the loan of his android phone camera.  It produces photos with some pretty decent quality!

today rick you could have driven up to the top of the field.  care needed on the high spots as usual.

however the wet spot as you turn into the pasture at the top of the hill is still quite wet.  the road around the far end would have been passable today if care was used.

so almost there.  should be fine next weekend depending on how much rain we get later this week.

Thanks Al. I may give it a try on Tuesday as I have the day off and the weather looks good (and theoretically no rain before then).
