Five flyers out today for a wonderful day of low wind flying, although slightly crosswind.

I test flew David Sisley's new Texan, a HK foamy offering which proved to be a very nice airplane.  Absolutely NO bad habits, gets off the ground at partial throttle in about ten feet.  It surprised me big time coming off so easily at that throttle setting as a discussion a couple of weeks ago suggested another one at another club took all the runway and tended to snap if you got it too slow.

Definitely NOT so as this thing slows to a crawl with flaps on when landing with no indication of instability whatsoever.  Doubt the flaps are needed at all, but they were fun to play with.

It ships with retracts and an amazing sound system.  Tickle on a bit of throttle and you get the rumble of a big radial starting up followed by the sound of a rough slow idle and the prop then starts to spin.  Put the boots to it and she sounds just like the full scale Texan while only loud enough to hear on a nice low pass.  Out in the distance it is pretty quiet.
