Title: The BBQ is on - SEE YOU SUNDAY!!
Post by Chris on Jul 12th, 2024 at 3:22pm
The weather forecast is looking good for SUNDAY so we're having a BBQ!!!

Flying starts at 9 am.

Check back here before you head up to the field on Sunday for any last minute weather or road condition updates. If you don't see any then assume everything is good and we'll see you there.

While Metro was spared from rains, the field area was not. There were heavy rains on Thursday overnight and torrential rain yesterday afternoon. Field is soaked and full of puddles. Pits area is not drivable without getting stuck or causing damage to the field. Therefore - no place to park or even to set-up a chair or BBQ.

On top of Mother Nature, human ignorance has returned as the ATV drivers have paid us another visit and had their fun in the wet field and have caused even more destruction.

EVENT IS POSTPONED.

Very sad. I plan to swing by there today and take a few drone pictures. I’ll post them to local groups around here notifying everyone this is a field that is in use constantly and raise some awareness on the up keep it takes to use it

Thanks for your help on this.  Any awareness with the local community would be appreciated for sure.

While the roof covering over the picnic tables could suggest abandonment, the manicured lawn and PP should be an indication to others that the facility is being cared for and in use.....
