Fun Cub slope soaring

Yup, you read that right Smiley

Took my Fun Cub to Lawrencetown slope this morning to see how she would handle 60k winds. Remarkably well!! This is such a versatile plane, not much it can't do.

Turn the volume down, the wind noise is horrific.

Thanks for posting that Colin.  Super video.

I see the flaps worked well for landing.  Did to use them anywhere else the flight?

I used them in the flight before this one and honestly it didn't seem to make much difference in flight characteristics. However, the flaps definitely make landings easier, which is good, because landing in that kind of wind where it drops off substantially is very tricky. You almost have to let it fall from the air...it feels totally alien.

Looks like fun Colin.  I will give that place a try this summer. Just seems  a little strange to throw an airplane off a cliff without the roundie part spinning. Wait until you see my new fun cub. Now I have 2. They truly are a great airplane.

For some reason I am having a vivid image of 13 Funcubs being launched at once at the Lawerencetown slope and then a free for all ensuring with only one left in the air at the end. Oh and I forgot to mention, it's mine.

Go ahead and call me crazy. LMAO.

p.s. ditching the wheels and throwing away the prop would probably make a pretty big difference to performance with the funcub on the slope.

Yep Rick you're crazy. The only thing left the air after that would be the sea gulls.  Grin

I have this vision our is it nightmare of me standing on the lawrencetown slope, the fun cub in my right hand, my dx9 in my left and throwing the wrong thing with the wrong hand.  Grin Grin
