at the field july 27th
Jul 27th, 2014 at 8:34pm

great day today as mentioned in another post.  six flyers out but the wind came up bad after lunch so we packed up around two pm.

as rick was leaving he called me to point out the unusual cloud formation over the field.  I hadn't noticed as I was packing up.  thanks rick.

photo 1 is a standard exposure with through the lens metering.

photo 2.  photogs often use a polarizing filter to emphasize blue skies and since i didn't have one, stuck my sunglasses in front of the lens to simulate a polarizer and get this shot.

photo 3.  still not enough emphasis on the clouds for me so to fool the through the lends metering I bumped up the shutter speed to 1/2500th of a second to under expose this shot.  clouds jump out now.  lol

our newest flyer tony has been out several times and is shown here on the wireless buddy box with rick this afternoon.  very windy for a funcub but we did fly it.  check the windsock.

tony made a flying stop at the field today to get in a couple of flights before leaving tonight for england and his regular job on an oil rig over there.

in other news someone in a truck last night deliberately drove over three porcupines in the field beside our runway, crushing them.

pretty gruesome sight today.  this is a sanitized picture.

earlier this week (today was the ninth day of the past ten I was at the field flying) Joe  launches his 700 for another flight with matt watching.

and derek and crew use an augur to clear the rest of the stones from the field next door.  all work has been done there and it is now seeded.

In your last shot you captured what I saw when I was driving away Al. They look like spaceships. Alien invasion perhaps???

I can't imagine why someone would do this to these poor creatures  Sad

Al and I dragged them into the woods which was not a pleasant task.
