At the field August 25th

Another fantastic day of flying, bright warm sunshine and almost no wind. Four flyers out and a lot of flying took place.

notable was the flight with two large b-17 foamies owned by Marc Roy (the light colored one) and Rob Fobrigger. Some pretty good formation stuff until Marc's left flap panel came loose. The tape hinge failed and it hung down about 45 degrees from the wing. You can see if hanging in the third picture.

Marc made a hasty landing without problems.

Re: At the field August 25th Reply #1 - Aug 25^th, 2014 at 4:40pm Both gents getting their bombers ready to fly. the fourth photo shows strong warps in the stab on Marc's plane, we think caused by the hot sun today. The wing tips have similar downward droops. strange.

Re: At the field August 25th Reply #2 - Aug 25^th, 2014 at 4:43pm Shawn and Marc flew their gas powered fighters, shawn's a spitfire and marc's a p-47 thunderbolt. Marc had several excellent flights while shawn continues to be plagued with motor problems, managing only one flight.
