Have a look here:

https://www.google.ca/maps/@45.0762543,-63.3624174,190m/data=!3m1!1e3

This was taken this summer during a flying day as there are quite a few cars parked and also the FPV Racing course is setup!

Considering it is satellite acquired data it is pretty amazing!

That's amazing!  I see geoff's van I think,  but can't Make out the other cars.   Someone walking across the pits too.

From the number of cars,  must be a weekend day and from the position of the sun,  late morning.

This was the day Alain lost his plane in the woods. There are three in the pic and ended the day with two.

If that's the case,  I think I'll scroll over and find his plane.

I have to confess that I did search around to see if I could find anything that looked like pieces of a Telemaster, but with no luck!

I spent time, along with several others, searching aerial photos / Google satellite pics and matching them with videos from a plane that went down.  The person had been recording the video from the plane.  We were able to match the location and field and the nearest road to reach it.

The location IIRC was in Switzerland or Austria.  The plane was recovered.

So if there are missing planes around the field, maybe we could all look for them.  A detailed description of the direction from the field and how far away they might be,  would enable us to start.

In the spring, before the leaves come out maybe the club would like to have an aerial photography day.  Everyone who has camera equipped craft could come out and spend time doing vertical down photos at the limit of visible range, in the areas where planes are thought to be missing.  A great club activity and a testament to the technology now available.

I'm in.  I will gear up a plane with a high res vertical down camera.

We need detailed reports of last known direction, etc, of all missing planes.
