finding gerry's apprentice
Oct 7th, 2016 at 8:13pm

Here's the GPS track I walked today looking for gerry's plane.   Several of us were in the woods there without any luck until we tried my transmitter.  Paul heard the motor fire up and directed us in the right direction.   Based on where it was found Paul and I and probably others walked pretty close to it early in the search but didn't see it.

I would say there is considerable thickening of the trees etc there since this google earth photo was made.

IT is really thick down there now, if not for hearing the motor we would not have found the plane, just a note for future , it you think you still have transmitter response on the model keep it with you while you are looking .  Also like to point out that drones over head which may help find it will block out the noise from the motor .

nope, drone support is need too,  if you can spot the plane that helps ,   just noting that if you are listening for the noise of the motor while using the transmitter we need to move the drones away for a bit

A big thanks to all 5 guys who spent a long time in the thick woods looking for my A/C. Thanks very much.
